Bio
Teresa Alden is an internationally recognized cinematographer, editor, and marketing professional based in Detroit. She is the co-founder of the independent film production company Obscura Broadcasting Company and the Director of Marketing Growth and Acquisition at the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.
Teresa strives to create emotional and relatable connections with audiences through storytelling in both narrative works and marketing campaigns. She embraces the creativity of the collaborative process to create art and tell diverse stories.
As a filmmaker, Teresa has produced two feature films with Obscura Broadcasting Company serving as the Director of Photography and Editor, winning Best Cinematographer at the Toronto Women Film Festival in 2022 for the psychological thriller Dangerous Creation.
Teresa is a video editor for the Dallas Symphony Orchestra’s concert series Next Stage, including the Emmy-nominated production of Tchaikovsky’s opera Eugene Onegin. Teresa was also the creative force behind several video advertisements for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, a comedy web series, and a mini-documentary series Humans of Quarantine.
As a marketer, Teresa oversees strategy and implementation of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra’s single ticket marketing and audience acquisition with an avid curiosity to understand what drives audiences to the performing arts in an evolving cultural climate.
Teresa embraces the journey of growth and learning in all aspects of her work and personal life. She is happiest with her husband making films and spending time with their mini labradoodle Zevon.
